Welcome to our wonderful world of costume and creativity! Our candy house, based in the north west is where we can create for you your wildest imaginations in the world of costumes and props. We make simple, we make lavish, we supply various theatrical costumes for companies up and down the country and overseas for theatre productions, circuses, corporate events and much more.

Pantomime star little Jimmy Krankie was on hand to give the thumbs up to one South Shore costume business which will have everyone dancing in the aisles.

Costume-designer Vicki Ivanov runs Candy House Costumes in the resort and is stitching like mad ahead of panto season.

Jimmy, appearing in Blackpool in the Rocking with Laughter Show, helped the businesswoman as she launched her latest range.

Vicky has been swamped with requests for costumes from across the country.

Vicky is making costumes for companies up and down the country, including companies from the south of England which are putting on shows in the next few months.

Working with just two machinists, Vicky designs and makes all the dresses, blouses, shoes and masks by hand, often working to tight deadlines in time for the performances.

Candy House Costumes also do a line in Venetian masks which are being used in theatres up and down the land.

The costumes have generated a lot of interest, but Vicky says the launch in Blackpool – in front of the giant Glitter Ball – is to remind folk of where to get their fancy costumes. She said: "I've been so inundated with work from out of town I've not been able to arrange a launch of the product in my home town!

"It's also very difficult to get all the people in the same area at the same time as they're often using the costumes in various shows across the country. But, finally, I can show the rest of the resort what I have to offer. I have already had some rave reviews and a number of requests.

"I've even had to turn some work down as we are just so busy."The costumes are everywhere and I hope people will take a real fancy to them. It's a fascination of mine at the moment and probably for a long time to come."
